NOMAD Family

Our NOMAD Family of homeowners currently spans a wide variety of climates and geographical regions across North America.

Lush mountain forests in British Columbia's Slocan Valley.

Frigid snowy climes of the Northwest Territories and all the way across to the rugged beauty of Canada's northern Atlantic coast.

Mild west-coast weather of Oakland and San Jose, California.

The harsh extremes of California's high desert in Yucca Valley, and the plains of Tulia, Texas.

We're proud to share their stories with you.

Raven’s Perch

Martha and Steve created a lovely off-grid retreat on their five-acre parcel of land in British Columbia's beautiful Slocan Valley. They built a bespoke 645 sq. ft. home using two NOMAD Cubes joined by a Connect that they share with their daughter and two cats. Martha and Steve also built a third stand-alone Cube called The Nest, from which they earn short-term rental income by hosting tiny-house vacation guests.

In addition to lovingly tending their organic garden, they also connected with Ryan and Aparna through Young Agrarians to create Emerald Grove Permaculture Farm on the lower portion of their property, working together to build a model for sustainable living. Winlaw, British Columbia

Martha and Steve have embraced one of the best things about our NOMAD Cube: you can build it practically anywhere. They've created a serene oasis in the Slocan Valley, living in two Cubes joined by a Connect as their home, plus a third standalone Cube as a tiny house vacation rental.

Here are Martha and Steve's reflections on their beautiful life at Raven’s Perch:

"Raven’s Perch is more than just a place, it’s a concept which is forever evolving. Fundamentally, we’re creating an environment that encourages those who visit to reconnect with nature – the forest, lakes, rivers, and mountains. We encourage visitors to disconnect from the outer world reality so that they might reconnect with their own nature. Only when we are quiet and away from the busyness of our life are we able to hear what our inner voice, our higher self, our soul, is whispering – or screaming – to us."

We chatted with Martha about the resonance of her NOMAD Cube journey.
